Open Educational Resources (OER) Initiative 

History

The OER  initiative was started in 2020 during Dr. E LaBrent Chrite's administration and was delegated to Dr. Hector N. Torres when Dr. Arletha McSwain left the institution. The initiative was supported and approved by Dr. Helena Walrond during her tenure as Provost. 

In August 2022, Provost William Berry announced that B-CU was selected to attend AAC&U's 2022-2023 Institute on Open Educational Resources. He also selected Dr. Torres to continue to lead the B-CU OER Initiative.

The OER team has been meeting throughout the fall 2022 semester in planning sessions. Information concerning action plans from the OER Committee will begin to be announced by the Provost's Office in the near future.
