Brief Biographical Sketch

Mr. Ervin Ross is Carl Swisher Library’s Director of Access Services. He received a Bachelor of Science from Bethune -Cookman College and a Master of Library Science degree from Florida State University in Tallahassee. He oversees the Circulation Department in the library and provides oversight for many other areas in the the facilty.  Upon graduating from Florida State University, he was hired at the library as Assistant Circulation Director where he worked for 28 years. He was then asked to become Director of the college's Physical Plant/Maintenance Department; he managed the whole campus for 16 years. 
Mr. Ross is an integral part of many aspects of the B-CU campus life; among the many commendations of his service, he has received the President’s Staff Award, the Mary McLeod Bethune Leadership Excellence Award and a Mary McLeod Bethune Statue Unveiling Award. He received the Outstanding Young Men of America Award and is a member of Psi Phi Fraternity. He is also a coordinator of B-CU’s Inspirational Gospel Choir for which he has received several awards. 
A master handyman, Mr.Ross has also been involved in property management and restoration. Serving actively in his church, he sits on deacon and trustee boards.
