Ms. Morey manages the materials budgets, monitoring expenditures and ensuring the efficient ordering and receipt of library materials. She also reviews and drafts collection development policies, and serves as the liaison to the Education department. Ms. Morey joined the staff at the Carl S. Swisher Library in August 2008 She previously served as a researcher at the Daytona Beach News Journal. She also has worked at other academic libraries, including the University of Central Florida (as a Visiting Librarian) where her duties included conducting fee-based patent and trademark screening searches and performing reference duties. Ms. Morey also worked as a Cataloger and Reference Librarian at the College of Central Florida, as well as an instructional designer in the Orlando area.
A native Floridian, Ms. Morey earned a M.S. in Library Science from Florida State University, with a concentration in Academic Libraries and Cataloging. Her undergraduate degree is from Pepperdine University, where she majored in European history/humanities. She has also taken a number of doctoral-level Information Technology courses at the University of Central Florida. Ms. Morey is a member of the American Library Association, the Florida Library Association and the New Smyrna Beach Church of Christ.
