Brief Biographical Sketch

Dr. Roberts is a 1989 graduate of Bethune-Cookman University. He holds a Doctorate degree in mathematics from the University of South Florida, and a Master’s degree in mathematical science from the University of Central Florida. Prior to joining the faculty at B-CU, Dr. Roberts was employed as a statistician for the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), 2000 - 2023.

He has authored 35 peer-reviewed research articles, primarily in the area of infectious and communicable diseases. Dr. Roberts has previously held adjunct professor of mathematics positions at Mercer University, Morehouse College, Georgia State University, University of South Florida, and the University of Central Florida. He is a proud member of the Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity.

Research Interests

Dr. Robert’s research interests include estimating the prevalence and incidence of viral hepatitis infections in the United States, and risk behaviors associated with the burden of viral hepatitis infections.
