Brief Biographical Sketch

My name is Akeemia Clements, born and raised in Miami Florida. I’m the oldest of nine siblings. I graduated from Miami Killian Senior High School and went on to receive my B.A in Mass Communications with an emphasis in Broadcast Production at B-CU. At B-CU I was under the leadership of Mr. Glenn Walker, who is also my mentor and has taught me everything there is to know about the Radio/Television industry. I also served as the radio station manager at our school radio station 99ONE. Then I went on to Graduate School at Full Sail University and graduated with two MFA Degrees one In Film Production and in Creative Writing.

Now I’m currently working here at the Great Bethune-Cookman University where I teach Mass Communications with an emphasis in Digital Broadcast Production. I am the founder of the First Film/Television organization on campus called Reel Motion Society and I also advise many other organizations on campus.

I am also one of the advisors for Mary’s Choice Awards.  I serve as Chair for the COAH Student Awards & Recognition Committee,  I am a member of the Student Affairs Committee and a Faculty Senate Member.
