Brief Biographical Sketch

After being in private practice in Lawrence, Kansas for 14 years I made the move to teaching and research. My PhD and Master's degree is in Health, Sport and Exercise Science with 18 hours and beyond in each of the following specializations:

1. exercise science, 

2. physical education pedagogy, 

3. health education 

4. preventive medicine/public health.

Currently, I am an Associate Professor at Bethune-Cookman University in Daytona Beach, Florida. My other responsibilities are as Chair of the Department of Secondary and Physical Education. My area of teaching expertise is Biomechanics/Kinesiology, Adapted Physical Education, Motor Learning and Development and Elementary Physical Education Methods. I also possess specialized background in health/exercise science, clinical sciences, health education, and preventive medicine/public health. Currently, I am teaching Exercise Physiology, Pathophysiology of Exercise, and Kinesiology/Biomechanics and Senior Research Seminar. I have previously taught Motor Learning and Development, Adapted Physical Education, and Introduction to Sports Medicine. I have also taught Elementary Physical Education Methods and Care & Prevention of Athletic Injuries. I also teach in our Master's of Athletic Training program focusing on clinical physiology.
