Brief Biographical Sketch

Dr. Eitzen entered the field of education in 2005. Following four years of teaching in public schools, Dr Eitzen joined the faculty at Bethune-Cookman University, first as a reading instructor, and then as an Assistant Professor in the School of Education. Dr. Eitzen was named Assessment and Accreditation Coordinator of the School of Education in 2013, and was promoted to Associate Professor in 2017. Dr. Eitzen led the B-CU College of Education through successful national program review and approval from the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP) in 2018. Shortly thereafter, she was offered a position as Associate Dean of the College of Education at Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania, where she led another successful CAEP national accreditation in 2020. She also served as Interim Dean during her time at Bloomsburg before returning to B-CU in 2023. Dr. Eitzen has served professionally in both the Florida Association of Colleges of Teacher Education and the Pennsylvania Association of Colleges of Teacher Education, and also as a state program reviewer in both states. Dr. Eitzen also serves as a CAEP reviewer.
